For the Kids

NURTURING OUR FUTURE DANCERS
Your children are always welcome at camp! Kids age 4 and up will thrive in our Children's Program, which offers a full range of engaging and culturally enriching activities. Furthermore, those over age 8 may attend dance sessions if accompanied by an adult.

The Children's Program includes:
  • A dedicated at-camp coordinator (you can learn more about last year's coordinator by scrolling down)
  • Age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, and outdoor recreational activities
  • Dance instruction by one or both of our featured teachers

We also welcome toddlers aged 3 and younger at camp. Although there is no charge for toddlers, be sure to list your toddler's name and age on the registration form. The Children's Program primarily accommodates ages 4-12, but some three-year-olds will enjoy the program's activities, and cooperative arrangements among parents for toddler care may be possible depending upon the age mix of children coming to camp.

A great program is in store for your little ones! For more information, send an email to us (nmaugustcamp@gmail.com) and we’ll route it to the Children’s Program Coordinator, John.
2019 Children's Program Coordinator:

Marcella

My name is Marcella Martinez, and I am twenty-nine years old and live with my husband and two dogs. I was born in California on a military base but I was raised in Colorado, I lived in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, for three years as a missionary and then moved to Owasso, Oklahoma, for four years, and after all that moving around I have finally found my home here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have lived in Albuquerque  for almost two years and I have fallen in love with this beautiful state. I am currently a graduate from Toni & Guy hairdressing Academy and now work at Adorabella beauty academy as a cosmetology instructor. My dream is to open my own salon and have a truck with showers on it so I can give the homeless a chance to bathe and receive a haircut. I have been working with children for about five years. I was a children's pastor and have been in charge of multiple children's programs. I also babysit kids from 2 months old to 10 years old. For fun, my husband and I like to go on hikes and small adventures, and we love to try new foods. I am a little bit of a comic book nerd, I love to read fiction. I am still very much a child at heart and I think that's why I get along with kids so well.
