The Where: New Mexico Tech

Picture
The New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, or New Mexico Tech for short, is a university dedicated largely to the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. Lucky for us, it also has a great gym, modern dorms and dining facilities, and a swimming pool. Best of all, the campus is conveniently located just an hour from Albuquerque, New Mexico's largest city and home to the Albuquerque International Sunport airport!

Altitude
We’ll be staying at an altitude of over 4500 feet, so your body will need to acclimate to the new environs—especially if come from a much lower elevation. Be prepared to drink lots of water for good hydration, and to pace your aerobic activity: you ARE as young as you once were, but it’s perfectly natural for everyone to feel a bit tired or more out-of-breath for the first couple of days. Click here for more tips for successful high-altitude travel.
